ASBPE encourages members to sign up receive membership updates

In parts 1 and 2 of our series on navigating the new ASBPE website, we’ve covered

In this post, we’ll be talking about how to continue to receive information from ASBPE about your membership, upcoming events, and discounts as well as career information, job postings and ethics advisories.

When our new website launched in late January 2012, our entire membership database stopped receiving emails from ASBPE. We’re still trying to determine the cause, but like any good publishers, we’re asking for your help to get everyone back on track.

To renew your subscription to ASBPE’s e-newsletters, please click on Free E-Newsletter Sign Up in the sidebar of any ASBPE page. (Those who renewed their memberships in the last post will remember this sidebar).

Once you have clicked on Free E-Newsletter Sign Up, you’ll be taken this page . Here you’ll be asked to Sign up for our Email Newsletters.

Next, you’ll be taken to a page on Constant Contact’s website where you’ll be asked to enter your email address.

Once you have completed this section, you’ll be asked which e-newsletters you’d like to receive. You can choose one of three options — General E-News, Ethics and Jobs. General E-News will include information on broad topics — including membership — whereas Ethics and Jobs will be niche e-newsletters.

And that completes the process for registering for membership updates. Questions? Contact ASBPE Headquarters at info@asbpe.org.

ASBPE offers guide to renewing membership on new website

In February, ASBPE offered members and non-members a quick guide on navigating the new website, http://www.asbpe.org. The site has many features, least of which is our members only section, which can be found under the Members tab. Starting on April 20, 2012, only members that have paid their membership dues will have access to this section of the site.

You can pay your ASBPE membership dues — and retain access to the Members Only section — several ways, which are outlined below.

Option 1: Via the Members Tab

Once you select the Members tab, you will be taken this page. Select the option to renew or upgrade your subscription.

Option 2: Via the Renew Membership option

On nearly every page of the website, you can find a sidebar containing the options to Join, Renew Your Membership, Edit Member Info and more. Select Renew Your Membership to be taken to the next step in the process.

After you have made your selection to Renew Your Membership, you will be taken to the following screen to review your subscription, or membership, information. (For the purposes of how memberships are handled on the new website, each member has a subscription to the site.) On this screen, you will see the duration of your trial membership subscription, when your trial membership expires as well as an option to upgrade your subscription. (This can be found under Membership Type)

Select Membership Type: Trial (Upgrade) to update or renew your membership. You can then choose the membership type you are renewing.

Upon selecting your membership option, you will be taken to a payment screen. Payments can be made through PayPal via credit card or check. If you wish to have a paper invoice sent to you, please contact ASBPE headquarters to request one.

After selecting the PayPal option, you will be taken to to the PayPal website where you can make any necessary adjustments to your payment type.

Once your payment has processed, your membership will be renewed.

If you have any questions, please contact ASBPE Headquarters at info@asbpe.org.

ASBPE Redesigns Website For Better Usability

ASBPE's redesign goal was to improve its members' user experience. Along with InMotion developers, the site was rebuilt using a WordPress platform.

Have you been to http://www.asbpe.org lately? If you have, you may have noticed a few changes have taken place. The association recently unveiled a redesigned website which promises an improved user experience and much more robust functionality.

To get the most of the site, we’ll be posting a series of blog posts on the new functions of the website.

In this blog post, we’ll cover the new process for logging in to the site, updating your account and your account details.

Logging In

The log-in process for the new ASBPE website is similar to the old process. Locate the Log-In or My Account underlined text in upper right hand corner of the site.

Once you have selected one of these options, you will be taken to a log-in screen.

As with the previous site, your user name is the email address you used to create your account. Your password remains the same as it did with the old site. If you cannot remember your password, you can selected “Lost your password?” and reset it. If you do not remember your user name, you can email web-master@asbpe.org for help in identifying the email address that was used.

In our next blog post, we’ll discuss how to update your account information.
